A documentary in four chapters on the duration of Brett Shapiro Jew, writer, homosexual. Each chapter alternates Shapiro’s life with artists, intellectuals and psychologists on four different themes: identity, writing, normality, and non-traditional families.
The documentary by Mariano Lamberti and Roberta Calandra leaves everyone breathless. Perhaps to the non-celebratory course, for its solid and well-groomed style, the weather in which the camera and eye with the spectator blend. Perhaps to the passion that breathes underneath the roberta calandra film, to the audacity of telling an account that the authors never tell, and the producers wouldn’t like to hear it tell.
