How weddings have changed within the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a fairly easy wedding car to expensive and big wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do look ahead to hearing them, talking about them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, through the meal after the meal, yet it is of an strong opinion that this father of the groom speech needs to be delivered following the meal. I am aware that for most marriage ceremony speakers i.e. Father in the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they might would rather possess the wedding speeches prior to the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and the way a lot of them (as wll as wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to get delivered following the meal for many reasons, most of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and aren’t playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which will be ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches ahead of the meal and their is actually a delay of 15 minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches act as the transition from your meal on the dancing (with nothing happening following your meal, individuals are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared about the Bride & Groom and they do know they can get up, move around, take a rest, go for a walk, go to the bar…)
It can be difficult for folks from the Bride & Groom to talk in public places, since most of them wouldn’t be used from it. So, they may, whenever they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some sort of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
