How weddings have changed over the decades! From the handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about the second, wedding speeches are nevertheless a fundamental part of a wedding and guests do anticipate hearing them, referring to them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered ahead of the meal, through the meal and after your food, yet it is of the strong opinion the father of the groom speech should be delivered following your meal. I am aware that for many bridal party speakers i.e. Father with the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they might prefer to have the wedding speeches prior to meal, so they can enjoy their meal (many of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and exactly how a lot of them (as wll as the marriage venue staff) would choose the wedding speeches being delivered as soon as the meal for a lot of reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests have been fed and watered and are not listening to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which may be so prior to the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches prior to the meal along with their is actually a delay of A quarter-hour to 1.5 hours, driving your home staff crazy continuing to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches act as the transition through the meal for the dancing (broke and alone happening following your meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to become shared about the Bride & Groom then they are fully aware they are able to get up, move around, take a rest, take a stroll, navigate to the bar…)
It’s a challenge for parents in the Bride & Groom to talk in public areas, the majority of them would not be used of computer. So, they could, if they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some form of formal speech(es) following the meal…
