SA-3 cylinder shape burrs are good for interior contour work and deburring. Because of the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, quite a few on far more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel).
Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be applied to ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, and for all non-metal materials for example stone, plastics, hard wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs will leave a slightly smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips as they cut away the fabric. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is regarded as the popular cut and can help you through most applications.
Machines Applied to:
Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders
Application:
Ferrous Materials – Certain, Steel, Stainless, Steel, Titanium, Nickel, Wrought Iron
Non-Ferrous Materials – Copper
Other Materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
Cylinder Shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
Safety Tips & Techniques:
Tool speed will be determined from the material you use your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you’re operating at too much of speed for your application. Start using a slower speed while increasing as you go along unless you attain the best results
Apply light pressure and allow tool carry out the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life as well as a dull burr.
Always wear proper PPE to feature (however, not limited by) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and safety gloves. Keep all guards in position on your own machine.
Avoid experience electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your respective workpiece.
